Tell us about how you started making music?
I have always had an attraction to music. When I was around 2 I was already singing. By the time I was 6 or so I started to write music. Music is what holds everything together for me.

Who are your main musical influences?
The Cure, Tori Amos, Active Child, Santigold, SOHN, Wolfsheim, M83, Royksopp and Mt Eden.

You started out singing in choirs, and it’s quite easy to see how this has influenced your style, is this something you do consciously?
Until recently I wasn’t conscious of it. I joined a choir for fun and to reconnect with my past about a month ago. It was then that I realized how much my music is influenced by choral music. I can hear it in the way I write. I notice it in my vocal parts and melodies. I think it’s interesting that it took me this long to realize it.

You grew up in New Mexico, what is the music scene like there?
Growing up in Albuquerque, NM I found a lot of punk rock, Indie, Metal, and Bluegrass. It has been a while since I lived there so it is hard to say what the current music scene is. While I was living there I was in a punk band doing backup vocals and bass guitar.
